About BMP To Base64.

Encode the original file

Encode BMP files as Base64 or a Data URI locally. Maximum file size: 50 MB. Copy or download the result. Base64 represents binary bytes as text. It does not resize, compress or change the original format. Encoded data is approximately one third larger than the input.

Data URI and formatted output

Choose plain Base64 or a Data URI with the original MIME type. HTML hyperlink, JSON and XML formats wrap the same encoded file. PSD, TIFF and PDF files can be encoded without rendering their contents. A Data URI is an embedded file, not a public hosted URL.

Local processing

One file up to 50 MB is processed in your browser. Copy the output or download it for use in your own application. Treat encoded sensitive files with the same care as the originals.

A LITTLE CLARITY

Good questions. Simple answers.

A few helpful answers before you get started.

Is a Data URI a hosted URL?

No. The entire file is embedded in the URI. It is not uploaded or given a public web address.

Does Base64 change image quality?

No. Encoding preserves the original bytes, including PSD layers and PDF pages. It does not convert the file into a different image format.

What is the maximum size?

One file up to 50 MB. Base64 output is larger than the original binary file.
